Yesterday marked Canada’s 143rd Birthday and ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s 26th annual Canada Day celebration. More than 10,000 employees, retirees, their families and friends gathered at the F.H. Sherman Recreation and Learning Centre on the Hamilton Mountain for a fun-filled afternoon and evening of activities and entertainment.
Some of the attractions included Calvin the Magician, the Reptile Man, and demonstrations by the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Angling Club. There were also carnival rides and inflatable slides, a “MUCH” Video Dance, a performance by “Livin’ on a Prayer” a Bon Jovi tribute band, and of course the much anticipated fireworks display. It was a spectacular night, and what better way to end it than with the singing of our national anthem.
This is what one festival goer had to say:
“We just got back from the fantastic fireworks display at the park. Our small group of 3 was awestruck by the length of the show and the caliber of the fireworks. Many people around us commented on your fabulous display as well. Our original plans for today fell through, so we thought we would come out and see your display for the first time. We were so happy that we did, and it is wonderful that you share that great park with the community and not just employees. The band you hired was very good as well. We definitely will be back next year. Thanks so much for making our evening fantastic!” – MB
Look forward to seeing everyone there again next year!
