12 finalists from the Greater Hamilton Area took to the stage at the McIntyre Theatre Saturday night to woo the judges and walk away with the grand prize and title of ‘2010 Rising Star’. Hosted by Bob Mersereau, music journalist and writer, it was judged by Graham Rockingham, Ric Taylor, Barbara Sedun and Skip Prokop, founder of Lighthouse.

The talent level in Hamilton, Ontario is fantastic and our future has never looked better. From grade school acts, through high school to college/university, the artistry of music is alive and well.

Runners Up: Weekend Riot Club

The Dofasco Rising Star winner, chosen by the panel of music industry judges, are Dawn and Marra, a singing duo who play a variety of instruments. These Dundas residents have already enjoyed success playing clubs around the Greater Hamilton Area, and we are sure there will be more to come from them.
