Save Lives this Thanksgiving Weekend

OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU NOW!

Over the next six weeks, Canadian Blood Services will need more than 6,000 additional donors to book appointments to meet the needs of hospital patients all across Canada. In Southern Ontario alone, we need 1,200 additional donors to meet hospital demand.

The need for blood doesn’t take a break over long weekends. Long weekends are traditionally a time when blood donations decrease because people are away on holidays or busy with family activities. But the need for blood is constant. To ensure that patients across Canada continue to receive the blood they need for life-saving surgery, cancer treatments, traumas and other medical needs.

As Thanksgiving approaches, ask yourself: “Have I given blood in the past year?” If you haven’t, and you can, please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283) to book an appointment today.

On average, every minute of every day, someone needs blood in Canada.
